A Girl, a Chair and a Pear

When I first began painting, I painted only still life. I must have painted dozens of pears as I was teaching myself to notice colors, values and how light hits and wraps itself around objects. Every once in awhile I have an urge to return to still life or add elements of it to my current work. The chair, the background color and the long-necked girl were inspired by the art of Amedeo Modigliani.
