I began this painting about a year ago, but was feeling uninspired and had no idea where I was headed. I put it away with all my other unfinished paintings. Last week I rediscovered it and decided to try again. I painted over the original bright colors with whites and grays but still didn't know where I was headed. Feeling sort of frustrated, I wanted to stop painting and just go read a book. And that was when I had the "light bulb" moment. I lowered her eyelids and placed a book in her hands. I LOVE the simplicity of "The Book Angel."
