Mermaid Incident ​

This may seem strange, but my inspiration for this painting was a sheet of tissue paper. It reminded me of the scales or tail of a mermaid so I began this painting by gluing the paper to the canvas. I liked the idea of her being mischievous so I added the unsuspecting fisherman. I stenciled the background and then smeared it with my brushes to make it look more like water. As a final touch, I added the bubbles. Bubbles can be found in many of my paintings.
