The inspiration for this piece came from the lyrics of a Joni Mitchell song, "Case of You."

She sings, "Oh I am a lonely painter. I live in a box of paints." This is one of my favorite love songs. I was also inspired by the recent film, "Loving Vincent," the world's first fully painted feature film. It is simply stunning.
