This is the one of the smallest oil on canvas paintings  I have ever done. I used a lot of white paint mixed with blues, pinks and yellows. I didn't intend for those sad eyes to show up, but they did and it felt right. The very last detail of this painting was her freckle. It was by accident that it looked like a heart so I kept it. Who wouldn't want a hear-shaped freckle?
