Years ago, as an emerging artist, I studied “cubism.” I read and viewed everything I could find on the subject. I learned what cubism was and what it was not. It was fascinating. I believe the process helped shape me as an artist. I often have an urge to go back to my beginnings. Painting in this way is complicated and takes a long time (this one took me a month), but it frees me from my self-imposed perfectionism.
